CP12 stands for CORGI Proforma 12, it was named when CORGI was the authorized body for gas safety which is nowadays Gas Safe Register. After CORGI lost its status as a regulatory body they named this certificate landlord safety certificate but still, these two words are used interchangeably.
The regulations around CP12 certificates cover all gas-related equipment in a property. This includes gas appliances such as ovens and boilers, pipework and fittings responsible for the conveyance of gas, and exhaust equipment such as flues and chimneys.
What is Covered by the CP12 Gas Safety Certificate? Landlords are legally required to have all gas appliances, flues, pipework, fittings, and chimneys inspected by a registered Gas Safe engineer once every 12 months.
